Steady and unsteady pressure measurement technology

The steady and unsteady pressure measurement technology at the TFD enables precise measurements of pressures in turbomachinery and makes a decisive contribution to operational monitoring, flow analysis and stall detection.

Description

Areas of application

  • Standard instrumentation for pressure measurement: Monitoring of steady pressures and dynamic processes (e.g. stall detection or blade profile pressures) on all our test rigs.

Functionality

  • Resistive pressure measurement: The stretching and compression of the pressure diaphragm causes a change in resistance, which is translated into a voltage signal

  • Piezoresistive pressure measurement: The deformation of the diaphragm also causes a change in electrical conductivity, which results in a greater change in resistance and increases the measurement resolution

Properties

  • Precise integration: Sensors are integrated and positioned by our in-house sensor workshop without influencing the geometry around them

  • Modular design: Steady pressure transducers can be flexibly adapted to different test rigs

  • Compact miniature sensors: High measuring accuracy for dynamic flow analyses
