Test rigs

Our test rigs offer opportunities for experiments in the main areas of axial machines, radial machines, wind tunnels and system test rigs. Thanks to modern technology, the theoretical planning carried out beforehand can be tested under realistic conditions.

Axial machines

Axial turbine test rig

The Axial Turbine Test Rig enables a wide range of investigations on axial turbines, including multi-stage effects and aeroelastic issues.

High-speed axial compressor

The High-Speed Axial Compressor enables precise investigations of transonic flows and multi-stage effects under realistic conditions.

Low-speed axial compressor

The Low-Speed Axial Compressor enables investigations of boundary zone effects, transition and aeroelastic principles under realistic conditions.

Radial machines

Test rig for turbocharging and electrically driven compressor systems (PAE)

The PAE Test Rig supports research and development of exhaust gas turbochargers, fuel cell charging systems and electrically driven compressors.

Large centrifugal compressor test rig

The Large Centrifugal CompressorTest Rig enables the flexible investigation of pressure ratios, scroll geometries and flow phenomena.

Wind tunnels & system test rigs

Aeroacoustic wind tunnel (AWT)

The Aeroacoustic Wind Tunnel investigates aeroacoustic phenomena in pipelines and turbomachinery with a focus on sound transport and numerical validation.

Linear cascade wind tunnel

The Linear Cascade Wind Tunnel enables aerodynamic investigations on blade grids with flexible flow and geometry settings as well as precise measurement technology.

Low-speed axial diffuser

The Low-Speed Axial Diffuser examines exhaust diffusers on a scale of 1:10, including inflow parameters and support ribs to optimize design guidelines.

Low-speed free jet wind tunnel

The Low-Speed Free Jet Wind Tunnel is a wind tunnel for aerodynamic and aeroacoustic investigations and the validation of numerical models.

High-speed calibration wind tunnel

The High-Speed Calibration Wind Tunnel enables the calibration of pneumatic and temperature probes at Mach numbers from 0.3 to 0.9 under controlled conditions.

Rotor blade deformation test rig

The Rotor Blade Deformation Test Rig investigates blade vibrations and flutter behavior on wind turbines, including the validation of innovative measurement methods.
