Stationary and non-stationary pressure measurement technology

The stationary and non-stationary pressure measurement technology at the TFD enables precise measurements of pressures in turbomachinery and makes a decisive contribution to operational monitoring, flow analysis and stall detection.

Description

Areas of application

  • Measurement of stationary pressures: High accuracy in determining all steady-state pressures on test benches.
  • Measurement of non-stationary pressures: Monitoring of dynamic processes in turbomachinery.
  • Stall detection: Detection of non-stationary pressure fluctuations to detect flow instabilities.

Functionality and advantages

  • Stationary pressure transducers: Esterline 9816 high-precision differential pressure transducers offer flexibility thanks to interchangeable modules and in-house calibration for maximum accuracy.
  • Non-stationary pressure transducers: Kulite sensors with high temporal resolution enable precise measurement of blade profile pressures and flow fields.
  • Integration: Sensors are integrated into the blading without influencing the airflow around the profile.

Technical details

  • Stationary pressure transducers: Modular design for flexible adaptation to different test benches.
  • Miniature non-stationary sensors: Compact design and high measuring accuracy for dynamic flow analyses.
  • Sensor integration: Precise positioning of the sensors by internal sensor workshop.
