High-speed calibration wind tunnel

The high-speed calibration wind tunnel is used for the precise calibration of pneumatic and temperature probes. With its wide Mach number range and its temperature-controlled free jet wind tunnel, the test bench guarantees optimum measurement accuracy for experimental investigations on turbomachinery.

Description

Fields of application

  • Probe calibration: Calibration of pneumatic and temperature probes for various test rigs

  • Yaw angle adjustment: Improving the measuring accuracy of probes in the yaw angle

  • Application optimization: Preparation of probes for the specific requirements of later areas of application

Setup and operation

  • Mach number range: Calibration in the range from Mach 0.3 to 0.7 (<1 in future)
  • Temperature control: Adjustable temperatures in the free jet from 30 to 90 °C
  • Control: Computer-controlled positioning of the calibration device as well as temperature and flow parameters
  • Flexibility: Possibility of calibration with adjustment devices that are used on the subsequent test stands

Measurement technology

  • Pressure measurement technology: Steady and transient systems such as DMT and Kulites
  • Temperature measurement: K-type thermocouples and Pt100 resistance thermometers
