- Experimental and numerical investigation of aircraft engines.
Research Projects
Analysis and testing of turbine shroud cavities
To improve the innovative design, experimental measurements using conventional and optical measurement techniques as well as numerical investigations of cavities for future aircraft engines with different geometry configurations under engine-related boundary conditions such as pressure ratio, temperature, Mach number and Reynolds number are performed.
The outcome is derived factors that influence cavity design, local flow, and integration parameters. Through the derived design recommendations for a low-loss design, the project contributes to sustainable aviation.
